A fundraiser has been launched to help legendary Chicago DJ Boo Williams “become mobile again” after being hospitalised earlier this month.

“Boo was transferred to a much better hospital and is mentally in great spirits.

A fundraiser was set up to help support Boo, asking for “any donations to cover expenses”.

Boo has since posted a series of update videos from hospital, explaining: “This is my current situation right now.

Buttechno, real name Pavel Milyakov, shared the news on Instagram yesterday, February 17, writing: “Yana Pavlova.

As a vocalist and performer, Yana Pavlova frequently worked alongside fellow Ukrainian musicians, making several appearances at popular Kyiv club K41 (∄) throughout her career.

Silkworm, the Missoula, Montana, indie-rock band founded by Andy Cohen, Joel RL Phelps, and Tim Midyett in the 1980s, are reuniting.

In a new interview on the Kreative Kontrol podcast with Vish Khanna, Cohen and Midyett revealed that a reconfigured lineup with Phelps, who left in 1994, will reunite to play several shows this September.

They will be Silkworm’s first proper shows since breaking up in 2005, after the death of drummer Michael Dahlquist.

Perfume Genius has shared the second taste of his forthcoming new album, Glory.

“No Front Teeth” is a duet between Mike Hadreas and New Zealand singer-songwriter Aldous Harding.

Both of them—along with Alan Wyffels—appear in an epic, unhinged, and hilarious music video directed by Cody Critcheloe, who made Perfume Genius’ “Queen” video back in 2014.

Rick Buckler, who played drums in UK new wave outfit and mod revivalists The Jam, has died.

Buckler’s bandmates—singer and guitarist Paul Weller, and bassist Bruce Foxton—confirmed the news in a message posted across Weller’s social media accounts.

Born in the town of Woking in the county of Surrey, England, Buckler attended Sheerwater Secondary School, where he met Weller and Foxton.

Together, they formed the Jam in the early 1970s, playing covers of Chuck Berry and Little Richard songs at neighborhood pub Michael’s.

Influenced by ’50s and ’60s rock’n’roll acts like The Who and Larry Williams, Weller, Foxton, and Buckler were largely responsible for ushering in the UK’s mod revival.

1950s Hohner Electronium is a vibe. This piece I improvised reminds me of Commodore C64 loading screen

Working on my performance with @ensemble_modern at Frankfurt Alte Oper 9th of March 25. This is my setup - Hohner Electronium Pi, Joranalogue Collide 4 based modular, iPad with Bram Bos Fluss and two Nagra IS for looping.

I did a session with Robert Henke (aka Monolake) at Akademie der Künste. We had decided on that last year, when I invited him to show me the Publison DHM 89 D2 and we jammed with that combination. This time, I wanted to explore prepared piano, something I have been wanting to do myself for decades. While there a lot more techniques, I discovered one I found particularly suited for Robert's spectral and time processing. The CRB Computerband 2000 is to me the most interesting of all the auto-accompany boxes coming from Italy in the 1970s. It sounds gloriously retro, yet has a nice thump and beautiful arps. Since you can switch of all parts individually. you can make it sound like minimal disco. Explored at Museo del synth Marchigiano

@ahkosmos exploring the latest addition to the tape and test equipment studio. She is filtering a tape loop with a Brüel & Kjaer Spectrum Shaper, with the result running into the @eowave_modular Metallik Resonater in the back. Originally created for measurement purposes, the filterbank found its way into many experimental electronic music studios, from Warsaw to Paris. In later versions, Bruel & Kjaer even acknowledge the possible application for musical special effects in their catalogues. AFAIK it is the only of their instruments to get that particular honor. I've never explained exactly what is happening in my tiny setup, that changes today. I'll walk you through my setup and show you why I've been loving making music with it! The TL:DR is I have something constantly recording as a "just in case." This is thanks to the SkipBack feature on the SP-404MKII. Порог входа в музыку падает, а сама она обесценивается. Это хорошо записанный и очень замысловатый пост-боп — стремительный, но с четко расставленными акцентами, одновременно современный и немного традиционный, дающий исполнителям много пространства и воздуха (у Пеньи квинтет: гитара, тенор-саксофон, кларнет, контрабас и барабаны).Главное, впрочем, что поражает, — это композиторская манера Пеньи, который здесь выступает автором всей музыки.
