More than half a century after forming, roots-rock stalwarts Little Feat have announced the start of their final tour.

The Last Farewell Tour kicks off in April with shows across the southern United States, though the band have confirmed a global tour to follow.

“Playing is the joy and satisfaction of touring, but it comes with the hard part—travel, the endless miles on a bus,” Little Feat shared in a statement.

Little Feat shared their latest album, Strike Up the Band, earlier this year.

K-pop group NewJeans have announced that they will return to record label Ador following a prolonged legal dispute.

Its members then accused the label of mistreatment, with singer Hanni alleging multiple instances of workplace harassment.

NewJeans also attempted to rebrand to NJZ in an effort to work around their exclusivity deal with Ador; however, a Seoul court ruled that the group had failed to prove significant negligence on the part of the label.

At a concert last March, NewJeans announced that they would be indefinitely pausing all band activities.

“Most people would be terrified, and I did step back and regroup,” he says of his health challenges.

In our latest session, we’ve been listening to the 30th-anniversary reissue of Aphex Twin’s ambient classic Selected Ambient Works Volume II.

Released via Warp Records in 1994, Selected Ambient Works Volume II is a quiet masterpiece.

Inspired by the lucid dreams of Richard D. James (aka Aphex Twin), it melds lush synths, distant soundscapes and uneasy disintegration to form a hypnotic, eerie world of sound.

At this point, it’s no surprise that woods’ writing is exceptional; he has long been one of hip-hop’s most incisive lyricists.

The Vinyl Factory and HYMN have teamed up to release Hello I Love You by Anal House Meltdown (AHMD) on vinyl.

Founded in 2011 by Eddie Peake, George Henry Longly, and Prem Sahib, AHMD began as a queer club night blending performance, music, and visual art.

Two music videos will premiere in the coming weeks to accompany the release – both shot at London’s Venue MOT.

Pressed on 180-gram heavyweight black vinyl, Hello I Love You is limited to 300 copies and features hand-stamped, numbered, and signed sleeves and labels.

When I saw LudoWic for the first time live at Noodlebar in Rotterdam, he already had a beautiful Volkstrautonium with him, from which he brought forth cello-like resonances. Fast forward a few years and I see him exploding across social media playing the full blown Mixturtrautonium. The Trautonium is 1930s German proto-synth by Trautwein and Oscar Sala, recreated by Jürgen Hiller of Trautoniks. It made me so happy to see this 90 year old instrument revitalized for a new audience, so when he came by to play the wonderful Funkhaus in Berlin, I asked LudoWic a few questions. I started this track three weeks ago. In the process of recording, I took a break to call my mum, who was in a hospital in Munich. I had planned to go there the next day. But when I heard her voice, I knew I had to act fast. I turned everything off and an hour later I was on the train. This gave me an extra day with her, for which I am thankful. When I returned home a week later after her passing, I found the patch was still the same. So I recorded the piece, feeling very different from how I started it.

This ticks all my boxes: a) a vintage toy b) repurposed into an electro-acoustic instrument c) that plays in a semi-chaotic manner. The Magic Box by David Bellinger is an inspiring instrument for sonically curious (or odd) people like me. Made in very limited numbers, as the Fisher Price Record Player it is based on has become both rare and expensive, it is something I carry with me everywhere now. "Music like the wind" - film director Fatih Akin had a beautiful vision as to how his movie "Amrum" should sound. He got in touch with me to turn it into reality. After a failed start, and a bunch of research, I settled on the aeolian harp, or wind harp, as the instrument to make wind sing musically. As I travelled with a tape recorder and the instrument to the small North Sea island of Amrum I was both happy to have the chance to undertake this experiment, but was also worried if it would produce something listenable, and even more importantly, something that would work in soundtrack of a star-studded German feature film. I thought I had seen it all in my "will it music" test equipment journey. Then I stumbled upon the Brüel & Kjaer 7502 Digital Event Recorder and my mind was blown. They accidentally (?) designed a wonderful lofi pitch shifting echo, that allows for extreme effects. It can even be played as a keyboard controlled sampler with a range wide enough to turn everything into digital dust. This is my favorite sampling setup so far. What I love about this setup is I can sample anything on my iPad! Like YouTube, Spotify, or sample VSTs which can also be sequenced and controlled from Digitakt II. Having the Octatrack in the mix allows me to sample and chop samples from the iPad through the Digitakt II or resample the Digitakt back and forth between the two boxes. I try to recreate the drums of Pacific Coliseum - Ocean City. I do this on the Digitakt II but these tips can be applied to any drum machine like Ableton Move or Push 3, or even MPCs! I attempt to speed run a house track using a real Roland TR-909 and my Octatrack! It came out way better than expected! I also set up ascent and return for the Echolocator by Erica Synths! The 909 nowadays is way too expensive and I would never consider buying one, but they do sound great and I think what really is special about it is that it makes you into a workflow that is fast with enough parameters to keep it interesting... barely... The Erica Synths Echolocator is here and it's Awesome. Quickly becoming one of the best delay pedals I've tried. But it's not a pedal haha! It's similar to the Zen Delay but don't get it twisted, they're not the same! The Echolocator has Reverb, Shimmer, a Pitch Shifter, a BBD mode, and a really cool way they've implemented the BP filter. My journey has now led me to owning an HPD-20 haha. What's hilarious is I've wanted to own one of these for soooo long but their price has kept me away. Now that I have one I realize how difficult drumming on these can be. I get it, but making it sound cool and effortless is the hard part especially at faster tempos. Голландский габбер — результат вражды между модниками из столичного Амстердама (где слушали хаус) и трудовой молодежью Роттердама (которая хотела быстрее и жетче). Именно поэтому в роттердамских клубах начала 90-х диджеи стали ускорять импортные хаус-пластинки со 120 ударов в минуту до 150, добавляя к ним тяжеловесную бочку с драм-машины Roland TR-909. Фишка быстро перекочевала в местные композиции, сформировав габбер — искаженное молотилово под синтезаторные свистелки, дуделки и зазывалки на скорости от 150 до 230 ударов в минуту. Грустные новости. Умер Дмитрий Петрович Ухов, классик отечественной музыкальной журналистики, один из тех людей, без которого непредставима история советского и российского джаза. Невероятный эрудит, стилист, умевший тончайшим образом слышать музыку и влюблять в неё посредством слова. Аннотации авторства Ухова на мелодиевских пластинках я читал ещё маленьким, во взрослом возрасте (к сожалению, очень кратко) с Дмитрием Петровичем работал. Последние годы были для него тяжелыми. От Преминджера обычно ждешь заморочек на тему ритма и гармонии. На «Ballads» он, наоборот, отказывается от сложного постбопового синтаксиса в пользу красоты мелодий и чистоты звучания.
