Several performances on Geordie Greep’s US tour have been cancelled following allegations of sexual misconduct made against the singer, which he has denied.

One remaining US performance, in Des Moines, is still scheduled to take place, as is a brief November run in Europe.

The cancellations arrive after allegations were made against Greep at a show in Vancouver on October 8, where an attendee handed out flyers claiming the singer committed an act of sexual misconduct.

Greep later addressed the allegations on stage.

Sometimes you encounter a certain song title and you know it’s about to make you cry.

Such was the case when I spied “The Gem and Mineral Show” at the bottom of the tracklist for Jess Williamson’s new album.

Williamson knows how to pen a bona fide country tearjerker.

Nearly the whole of A Mile South of Heaven takes place in the rearview mirror; it opens with a song called “Goodbye to All That” and closes with the line “I am a tourist here/I come and I go.” In between, Williamson grapples with the question laid out on “Country Mile”: “Can you stay soft in a hard world?” Her answer, at least for now, is to keep driving as fast and as far as she can.

Synth history could have been different, if the FBT Synther 2000 became a hit when it was released in 1973. This filter-less three oscillator monster from Italy sounds unabashedly electronic. In no way does it imitate acoustic instruments, but it drones deeply and has a massive bass. Truly unique, and very rare, it is an interesting artifact in synth history.
