The inaugural Ocean Way Festival has been canceled due to beach erosion from Hurricane Marie.

The Santa Monica festival from Coachella organizer Goldenvoice had been due to debut on the last weekend of September, headlined by the Killers and Olivia Dean.

But the City of Santa Monica pulled the plug two weeks in advance, organizers said, after “storm surf and runoff” damaged areas including the earmarked stretch between Santa Monica Pier and Bay Street.

Goldenvoice is planning to launch Ocean Way Festival next year instead, according to the statement.

Nashville International Airport is being renamed in honor of the late Dolly Parton, the city’s News Channel 5 reports.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee made the official announcement late last month, and now the city’s Airport Authority board has voted unanimously in favor of the name change.

To push through the name change, the Nashville Airport Authority apparently had to update an actual policy that said someone must be dead for two years before having an airport named after them.

Macklemore has spoken out today (September 14) after being dropped from the upcoming Ed Sheeran tour over his recent “Free Palestine” comments.

It comes after the musician recently responded to critics of his onstage pleas for a “Free Palestine”, saying striving for equality “should never be controversial”.

“Ed told me that Kraft said I would not be allowed to perform in his stadium,” Macklemore wrote on his Instagram account.

Synth history could have been different, if the FBT Synther 2000 became a hit when it was released in 1973. This filter-less three oscillator monster from Italy sounds unabashedly electronic. In no way does it imitate acoustic instruments, but it drones deeply and has a massive bass. Truly unique, and very rare, it is an interesting artifact in synth history. The Milton Gemichord 961 has kept me spellbound ever since I first played it at Museo Del Synth Marchigiano in 2021. It's a string/piano/brass/bass synth like many Italian keyboards of the time. But it sounds elegant and dramatic, also thanks to its "liturgic" section. It is utter unobtanium, with only three known to still exist.
